Artists met, e-shot sent, and a brochure bubbling under. Such is life in recent days at the AND festival office.
As well as our headliners email going out, a few details of AND Festival's 29th September launch have been revealed in the shape of Spectres of Spectacle.
Organised in collaboration with art and design agency Mercy as part of its Overlap series of events, Spectres of Spectacle will be headlined by up-and-coming electronicist Forest Swords. Anat Ben David (of Chicks On Speed) and Maria Minerva are among others set to perform, but Forest Swords performance is particularly unusual as it will incorporate all-new music cut onto radiographs (x-ray images to you and me) rather than the traditional vinyl.
The full line up is available on the Facebook event page.
Spectres of Spectacle is just one of many happenings planned for the AND Festival launch, with performances and previews elsewhere in Liverpool including Chinatown, The International Gallery and The Black-E. We're up to our necks in writing the festival brochure this week, but once we've mopped up all the blood invariably sweated over that (think the elevator scene from The Shining, transplanted to our HQ in FACT), we promise more info.
Of 'artists met', lastly: Rachel Mayeri we mentioned in a previous post, but you mightn't know that Brody Condon has also been in country to prepare for his AND Festival performance LevelFive.
For the uninitiated, I'll skip the explanation and point you straight in the direction of this recent interview with Brody on Liverpool culture website Seven Streets.
Thanks again to them for the coverage including the reminder that LevelFive registration is still open here.
