Blog / Suspension of Disbelief

Posted by Gaby on the 19th July 2011

Finally, we got the blog up and running! The next few posts will include some of the ideas and links that have been whizzing around the AND Festival inboxes whilst we have been preparing the 2011 festival.

Over the coming weeks this blog will also invite artists, filmmakers, programme partners and friends of the festival to give us their thoughts on belief, a subject which runs through this year's thrilling and engaging programme.

We think the programme embodies the AND Festival spirit alongside experiential, playful and contemporary perspectives on an economy of belief, starting as always with the question: "How can we Abandon Normal Devices?"

It is a programme that will range from self actualisation seminars to experiments that test the definitions of life and artificiality. It will ask: can you believe in your own experience? Why have faith when something you believe in can be so easily pulled apart? Is belief a desire for coherence? Is this what makes it normal?
