For LightNight Liverpool 2021, Abandon Normal Devices (AND) presented a unique radio broadcast, mixing oceanic feelings with deep listening drone.
Domes FM is an artist-run, online radio station broadcasting from the former IBM mainframe computer room in the basement of Bidston Observatory Artistic Research Centre, every Wednesday (8pm – 11pm). The station welcomes artists passing through the Observatory, as well as guest DJs, producers and musicians living locally, to share anything from live audio experiments, chit chat and readings, to YouTube playlist mega-mixes, bangers and anti-bangers. Domes FM is a space for a spectrum of experimentation and learning, operating as a testbed for novices and old hands alike.
For a special Light Night 2021 edition, AND in collaboration with Domes FM residents M T Hall and DJ Gothick Bong broadcast a one-off show, compiled in response to the themes of AND Festival 2021s’ programming; a marine selection of tracks, ferry field recordings, OSTs and personal productions alongside shipping reports and aquatic horoscopes.
