Ian Nesbitt

Ian Nesbitt’s socially engaged practice spans interests in moving image, documentary film, walking, landscape politics, grassroots activism and media skill sharing. His practice is largely collaborative, working with artists and non-artists.

Graduating in BA Fine Art from Nottingham Trent in 2004, Ian’s work has been shown at Nottingham Contemporary and One Thoresby Street (Nottingham), 21 Vyner St and the Nunnery Gallery (London), Bloc Projects (Sheffield), G39 (Cardiff), CCA (Glasgow), Prinzessengarten (Berlin), Nanogalerija (Zagreb) and Centre For Contemporary Art Moscow. He has delivered events and commissions for Primary and Bonington Gallery (Nottingham), Eastside Projects (Birmingham), Guild (Manchester), and Amorph Festival (Helsinki). His film and moving image work have been selected by Glastonbury Festival, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Berwick Film and Media Festival, Liverpool Biennial, and Oberhausen Film Festival among others and screened on BBC2, TG4 Ireland and RTVE Spain.

Ian worked with Ruth on a 3-year project in Preston for In Certain Places and worked towards two new offsite commissions for Nottingham Contemporary.

Ian lives and works in Sheffield.
