There are lots of ways to experience this year’s AND Festival in Barnsley. Whether you’re visiting for a few hours, or making a weekend of it, there’s lots to experience across the festival and around the region to make it a memorable weekend.
I’m visiting for a few hours
If you’re visiting just for a few hours, we suggest you head to our main commissions Krumville and Northern Passage in Barnsley Town Centre, then head out to Elsecar for Acoustic Memories to end your visit.
I’m visiting for a day
You’ll be able to visit most of what the festival has to offer in one day if you plan ahead. We suggest you join us on Saturday to get the most out of your day. Head to our main commissions Krumville and Northern Passage in Barnsley Town Centre, whilst catching some of our 7 hour stream SERVER at the Civic on your way. Make sure you plan in your visits to some of the (W)HOLE locations and grab some lunch in the area,we reccommend Barnsley Market’s Food Hall. You can head out to Elsecar for Acoustic Memories and Chaos Theory to end your visit.
I’m visiting for two days
Great! You’ll have plenty of time to see what the festival has to offer, plus a taster of South Yorkshire.
On the first day we recommend heading over our main commissions Krumville and Northern Passage in Barnsley Town Centre, whilst catching some of our 7 hour stream SERVER at the Civic on your way. We recommend you catch the premiere of Hapi Tomorrow at XX and our keynote speech XX. Make sure you plan in your visits to some of the (W)HOLE locations across Barnsley Town Centre and grab some food in the area, we recommend Barnsley Market’s Food Hall. On day two, you can head out to Elsecar for Acoustic Memories and Chaos Theory.
Over the weekend we suggest you do some of the following to get the most out of your visit:
- Visit one of the many cafes in Barnsley – we like Maggies, Old George, and Thyme Bistro
- Catch a film at the independently run Parkway Cinema with a programme of new releases and classics, 35mm and 70mm screenings
- Head over to Sheffield for the afternoon and visit our friends over at Site Gallery and the National Videogame Museum
- As we’re close to Peak District National Park, there are some excellent walks around Barnsley and South Yorkshire
