Thank you for joining us at our reception on Friday 25 September to celebrate the opening of the festival.
If you’re planning to come for the full day you’ll be able to visit most of what the festival has to offer if you plan ahead. This is just a suggestion from our team, we encourage to you find your own paths through the festival programme.
In the morning, head to our commissions Krumville and Northern Passage in Barnsley Town Centre, whilst catching some of the 7 hour stream SERVER at the Civic on your way. You can plan in your visits to some of the (W)HOLE locations and grab some lunch in the area, we recommend Barnsley Market’s Food Hall. You can then head out to Elsecar for Acoustic Memories and Chaos Theory from the 2pm slot to end your afternoon before heading back to Barnsley Civic for the reception at 5.30.
A few notes to make the most out of your day:
- We recommend booking your time slots for Krumville, Northern Passage and Acoustic Memories. There will be a chance to view Krumville during the reception, but we anticipate it will be busy.
- It is around 6 miles from Barnsley Town Centre to Elsecar Heritage centre, please plan your travel ahead of time to avoid any travel delays. The Stagecoach bus 66 from Barnsley Interchange and takes approximately 40 minutes stopping right outside Elsecar Heritage Centre. The train takes 10 minutes with a 10 minute walk from Elsecar Station to Elsecar Heritage Centre. There are also local taxis. You can find more information on our Travel and Accommodation page.
- Planning on staying longer? As we’re close to Peak District National Park, there are some excellent walks around Barnsley and South Yorkshire.
