Headwaters \\ Show and Flow

What can we learn from cinema preservation in the quest to protect water?

As cinemas reopened once more, Scalarama Merseyside presented an evening of time travel through local screen heritage. Discover the stories of local cinemas, lost venues and film custodians. Watch and share film footage, photos and personal tales, and dive into cinema’s aquatic history.

Scalarama Merseyside are pleased to invite guest speaker Mike Taylor, a projectionist at the Birkenhead Town Hall. Taylor spoke about his experience as a projectionist with one of the oldest 35mm projectors in the country, and shared his own outlook on modern cinema.

The Headwaters programme contains archive material, including films provided by North West Film Archive at Manchester Metropolitan University.
